Google can have a killer social app by combining Youtube, Photos, Gmail and Blogger. The process should be simple and intuitive using the KISS (Keep it Sweet and Simple) formula. Blogger would be the base site. A one button post from Youtube or Google Photos to post to the Blog would be ideal. Gmail could be used to post to the blog. The owner of the blog could bring other friends to the site, enabling them to post by Gmail, Youtube, and Google Photos.


A simple to remember domain could replace blogspot.com. Examples:


        .wow.com (Wow!)

        .rc.com (Really Cool)

        .gis (Google is Cool)


The Gmail or Blogger address would be used, building off the great market share of Gmail. One of my blogs is craighullinger.blogspot.com, my example could be craighullinge.gis. As in blogger the user could create a number of differently named and focused blogs.


So, in summary, what needs to be done? 


A simple template in Blogger for posting:

    Youtube videos

    Google photos

    Gmail posts



KISS Keep it Sweet and Simple but allow customization

Option to allow others to post to the site, either with a collective email ala twitter, and or youtube videos and google photos


Option - Include Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest?


Google would generate revenue with the typical ads. 


This can and should develop the most useful and social media site.


Voila!!! At little expense you have a killer social media app.
